Intended audience: The course is intended for young people to help them understand the problems associated with alcohol; and drug use and the dangers involved. It should therefore be of interest to parents, teachers, youth workers, community workers, foster carers and social workers and others involved in promoting the health, well-being and education of young people.

Summary

The course is built around three videos, two of which present key facts about alcohol and drugs respectively and a third which is a drama about the significance of peer pressures and how these can create major problems and risks to health and well-being. This course is ideal for providing a foundation of knowledge and understanding to enable young people to think carefully about the dangers associated with using alcohol and drugs.

• Appreciate the dangers associated with the use of drugs and alcohol
• Recognise how peer pressures can lead to serious problems
• Be better informed about alcohol and drug use
